  • Identify and apply strategies to use career planning tools effectively and build an actionable plan that can both guide and be integrated into day-to-day practice
  • Build an awareness of your own professional and personal identities and explore strategies to create and support an inclusive research environment
  • Develop, implement, and reflect on an action plan to support progress on personal or professional goals that effectively build and sustain work-life resilience

The Postdoc Academy has two program components: (1) an online certificate course through edX and (2) virtual Postdoc Academy Learning Sessions (PALS) at UC Irvine.

Postdoc Academy Certificate Course edX

The Postdoc Academy is a 6-week online course offered on edX. Each week will focus on one theme and contains 2 – 4 hours of content, including video modules, engaging discussion forums, and self-reflection. This course is self-pace and you can complete the course work at any time while the course is running! Participants will have the option to request a certificate of completion at the end of the course.

Postdoc Academy Learning Sessions (PALS) at UC Irvine

Postdoc Academy Learning Sessions, or PALS, are learning communities for postdocs to connect, share and learn from one another at their home institution. Practically speaking, PALS are small groups of postdocs who meet once a week while taking the Postdoc Academy online course. Participating in the online course is optional.

The Summer 2021 PALS series has concluded. An announcement will be sent when registration opens for Winter, 2022.
